The Raspberry Farmhouse
For over twenty years we have been devoted to growing small fruits: raspberries in particular, but also strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and currants.
The undisputed king of our fruit farm is the raspberry: about 2400 plants that we care for personally, from mid-April to about mid-September. Nicolò and Francesco carefully follow the whole process that brings its fruits around mid-July.
Our cultivation is soilless: each plant has its own pot, its own peat and its own water. Since we are in high mountains, this turns out to be the only valid method so that the plants produce their fruit. Winter is in fact too harsh to allow raspberry plants to survive during the coldest months: if we planted them in the ground they would not make it through winter and we would end up without our delicious raspberries.
Can’t resist them? Good for you! Raspberries are a truly excellent fruit nutritionally: rich in antioxidants and fiber, with vitamin C, suitable for everyone, even for diabetics.
